We are looking for a Manufacturing Systems Engineer to join our Physical Manufacturing Team at LightForce Orthodontics. You will be part of a small team and find that your day-to-day tasks actively contribute to our company’s success.

As a Manufacturing Systems Engineer, a background or interest in manufacturing would be useful to drive your understanding of how our digital workflow and existing MES works. You will be responsible for performing digital workflow updates, defining limitations of our existing solutions, managing projects related to sourcing and implementing new MES related systems. A creative mindset with the ability to become a digital workflow expert in a short amount of time will lead to success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define limitations of existing MES processes & propose improvements
  • Ensure that the best MES solutions are being employed within our production line
  • Support production team with day-to-day small MES improvements (process flow updates, Jira automations, reports, etc)
  • Uses knowledge of cGMP regulations and project management to support MES design & maintenance
  • Support user acceptance testing of product released by software


  • 1-3 years of Engineering Experience
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • Experience working in a startup environment is a plus
  • Experience working in with additive manufacturing is a plus

Required Qualifications and Skillset

  • Ability to deal with and resolve highly complex issues and problems
  • Knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures, manufacturing quality, and process development
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams (production, hardware, and software teams)
  • Self-motivated, process-driven, eager to learn, excellent organizational skills, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing methodologies
  • Familiarity with software process best practices - Agile & Scrum
  • Strong communication/documentation skills
  • Can easily collaborate with other SW developers on design discussions, and feature implementation

Preferred or Ideal Qualifications and Skillset

  • Experience with Jira project management, workflows, and Jira automation
  • Familiarity with Database Management Systems (SQL, etc)
  • Experience with QuickSight analysis and creation of datasets
  • Experience with Jira coding (JQL) is a plus
  • Experience with GitHub is a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems (Netsuite is a plus)
