Software Engineering Manager

LightForce Orthodontics is seeking a talented Software Engineering Manager to join our rapidly expanding team at our corporate headquarters in Burlington, MA. As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be in a leadership position managing multiple scrum teams, mentoring and developing individual contributors and play a key role in our hiring process as we scale the team in the next 2 years. You will coordinate across our geographically diverse engineering organization to drive the roadmap and architecture for our customer facing order entry system, manufacturing automation system and 3rd party integrations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a fast paced, high-functioning, diverse engineering team across all levels of seniority
  • Partner with executives, product management and engineering leadership to define and implement the vision and strategy around our software offerings
  • Collaborate with other engineering managers, developers and architects to determine optimal solution architecture, efficiency and maintainability
  • Guide team strategy, roadmap definition, negotiation and prioritization, resource allocation, and team building
  • Drive technical projects and provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment

Education and Experience

  • Prior managerial and technical leader of at least one group of five or more software engineers, ideally two to three groups
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field
  • Prior experience 3D printing, CAD/CAM Software and/or Web-based application is a plus
