I know what you’re thinking. Perhaps the Orthodontics industry isn’t what you were looking for. If I am being honest, that’s what I initially thought. But the more I learned, the more I started to see the exciting and massive opportunity. Imagine an industry that hasn’t changed in 50 years. This space is old, slow, and ripe for a team of creative and passionate people to do something BIG. As a Junior CAD Technician at LightForce Orthodontics, you will be an active member of a fast-growing start-up at the forefront of digital manufacturing. You will follow clearly written work instructions to prepare 3D mesh files for import into our planning software and create indirect bonding trays for our brackets using off-the-shelf CAD software packages. On-the-job training will be provided. Good spatial awareness and a willingness to learn new tools and skills will be beneficial. Previous orthodontics experience is not required. This position will report to the Operations Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow specifications, job orders, work instructions, and quality procedures to ensure that program outputs meet our quality requirements
  • Manipulate 3D files using off-the-shelf CAD software
  • Communicate with treatment planning and manufacturing groups
  • Actively participate in the development and improvement of our processes
  • Comply with all Company policies including safety, operating procedures, quality, attendance, and proper on-the-job conduct

Education and Experience

  • 0-2 years professional experience in 3D design, computer-aided design (CAD), or similar

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated design creativity
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as a passion for learning
  • Familiarity with executing Standard Operating Procedures in a manufacturing or assembling environment
  • Basic computer knowledge, such as using Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
  • Must demonstrate acute attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work well independently and in a team environment

Salary Expectations

  • $30,000 - $40,000 annually
