Software Engineer

Currently our headquarters is in Cambridge, MA and by the end of Q1 2021, we will be moving to Burlington, MA for a large expansion to support our rapid growth.


At LightForce Orthodontics we use advanced manufacturing technologies and proprietary CAD software to create the world’s best orthodontic treatment experience. We create 100% patient-matched orthodontic ceramic brackets designed from digital impressions with the goal of reducing treatment duration for patients and chair-time for clinicians.


LightForce Orthodontics, the world’s only provider of patient specific, 3D printed orthodontic braces is looking for a bright, motivated Software Engineer.

As a Software Engineer at LightForce, you will drive our vision for growth and help us revolutionize the Orthodontic profession. Working directly with Product Management and a small scrum team you will design, implement, test and maintain features critical to the success of our Customers(internal & external) using a variety of technologies along the way.

Essential Experience and Responsibilities

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Experience architecting, developing, deploying and maintaining SaaS-based infrastructure in AWS
    • Lambda, Elastic Beanstalk, Step Functions and API Gateway a plus
    • Experience with Serverless, Cloudformation and/or Terraform a plus
  • Experience developing and debugging withTypescript, Node.js, Express.js
    • Angular(2+) experience is a plus
  • Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL and Redis


  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field


  • Successfully delivered products
    • Delivery in the CAD/CAM/3D Printing space a plus
  • Demonstrated ability of building strong relationships inside and outside of an organization
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Conscientious team member and independent worker
  • Comfortable working in a scrum environment
  • Desire to be part of a fast-paced engineering organization
