Description

As one of our senior sales leaders, this position will be responsible for leading our sales team in the western US geography, including sales rep recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, and on-going management. They will also be responsible for managing and achieving quotas in their local sales territory as well as building and managing their team. As such the ability to understand orthodontics and to relate to the orthodontic customer will be critical in establishing credibility, building long lasting individual customer relationships, and helping direct reports to do the same.

The Sales Director will possess knowledge of sales processes including development and administration of the company's sales compensation plan. Communication and team management skills are also essential for this position. They must also be able to participate with the other functional leaders of the company on a strategic and implementation level to bring the company from launch to the realization of its marketing potential.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

⦁ Develop and implement effective sales strategies

⦁ Develop a sales deployment strategy including defining sales territories and setting quotas

⦁ Recruit, hire, and train sales representatives

⦁ Work with the marketing and the clinical education team develop a sales training curriculum

⦁ Co-develop and manage the sales compensation plan

⦁ Co-travel with reps for onboarding, training, and on-going coaching

⦁ Lead sales team members to achieve sales targets

⦁ Co-develop and drive implementation of the company’s sales force automation platform to manage the sales funnel from initial lead or contact to close and beyond.

⦁ Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts

⦁ Interact with orthodontic key opinion leaders using continuing education as a tool for creating awareness and adoption

⦁ Monitor and analyze individual sales rep and company performance metrics and suggest improvements

⦁ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts

⦁ Perform research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities.

⦁ Attend industry trades shows (national, regional, can local)

⦁ Travel outside of local territory between 30% and 50% depending on business needs.

Education and Experience

⦁ Bachelor's Degree required

⦁ Senior (7+ years of experience)

Required Qualifications

⦁ BS/BA degree

⦁ 7+ years total sales experience; one to three years in sales management supervising direct field based sales representatives

⦁ Proven track record achieving sales goals

⦁ Valid Driver's license and ability to travel

Preferred Qualifications

⦁ Industry experience selling a medical device, capital equipment, dental, or orthodontic B2B experience

⦁ Orthodontic sales is highly preferred

⦁ Comfortable with having clinical conversations with orthodontists
